The wonder of a perfectly preserved medieval tower.
For Artists, Romantic Souls and Travelers of History...
This Tower will take you far away in time and space, making you live in the Middle Ages and giving you the beauty of frugality.
Built around 1350, 22 meters high and adorned with Ghibelline battlements, it has an unparalleled history and magic.
Hi I'm Debora.
My husband and I and our two children have lived in this Tower for 15 years; it is a home full of charm and poetry, and we are very fond of it.
I know there may be uncomfortable circumstances compared to other types of housing (for example, the staircase is not heated and is colder than the rest of the property), but these small sacrifices are necessary in order to perfectly preserve the Tower and its incredible charm.
The tower has been conservatively renovated so don't expect anything high-tech.
I tried to think above all about the poetry that this place had to convey.
The kitchen should have had a big window in front of the sink, washing dishes is something I hate and it would have been less boring that way....
Then we needed a small sofa to rest on after cooking, a wood stove to slowly cook soups, and bake our piadina romagnola, which takes on a unique flavor this way.
An old wooden closet with creaking doors of the kind that was never lacking in our country homes.
Finally, a nineteenth-century bench on which to sit to eat at a long table somewhat like I had seen in old country pictures.
The spiral staircase was originally made of wood.
Unfortunately, there was nothing left of the old staircase and we decided to redo it in iron to make it stronger and more durable.
Fortunately, the small wooden doors and small windows along the staircase soften the climb to the upper floors.
The first small door takes us into the hall with exposed beams and a large fireplace; there is also a sofa bed and a small sink.
Going up the spiral staircase again, at the landing on the upper floor a master bedroom with a wrought-iron bed salvaged from his grandfather, a desk for those who wanted to draw, looking out the window.
A bathroom with a shower and two small pontaie holes, where in spring an owl methodically comes to lay its eggs.
From here going to the third floor this time by an interior wooden staircase, we come to the second room with a bathroom and an antique cast-iron tub with claw feet.
Just by passing through this room you go up to a loft where there is another of the things that could not be missed: a wooden French bed, the kind that makes you feel protected.
Another single crib antique piece where you can sleep only if you're not too tall a guy ...
This loft leads to the terrace where you can enjoy beautiful sunsets toward the mountains and see the sea in the distance.
Here's what those who have lived through Torre dei Battagli...
"I was in the tower for a month to write a novel.
I couldn't have found a better place: poetic, beautifully decorated, unique.
I had a great time and even now I miss it!"
Matteo di Pascale
"An enchanted place just a stone's throw from Rimini and Santarcangelo, where the smell of history is still inherent in the walls.
A recently renovated spacious dwelling with unique light and breathtaking views. This tower gave so much to my stay.
Spacious and comfortable rooms, private parking, a large and functional kitchen, 3 bathrooms, including one with a huge bathtub, and then access to the terrace with 360-degree views between the sea and the hills.
The owner always very helpful. Staying in the Tower is more than just feeling at home."
